Chef Joey Cusano’s passion for cooking began in childhood, inspired by elaborate Sunday dinners in his Italian household and shaped by growing up on a farm, where his family raised animals and crops for their meals. These early experiences fostered a deep appreciation for quality ingredients, tradition, and the connection between food and community.

Joey went on to study Culinary Arts and Food Service Management at Johnson & Wales University, spending four years developing his culinary foundation and professional expertise. After graduating, he gained experience in several local restaurants throughout Southington before joining Max Downtown, where he spent 11 years refining his craft and growing as a chef.

His culinary journey later brought him to Le Mazet in West Hartford, where he served as Executive Chef and continued to expand his creativity and experience in the kitchen.

Today, Chef Joey is the Owner of Mozz & Co., where he brings together his years of experience, Italian roots, and passion for thoughtful, ingredient-driven cooking. His approach is grounded in the belief that great food is about more than what is on the plate—it is about craftsmanship, hospitality, and creating memorable experiences around the table.
